If Rangers comes back and win in the bottom half, Cordero will lead the AL in Wins with 4:confused:

Seriously...if Cordero is on this team as the closer next week I am going to start sending in daily hate mail to the Rangers!!!

Adidas410s
04-26-2006, 03:59 PM
coming in to today Cordero's stats looked like this:

3-2 with 3 saves, 4 blown saves, and a 12.00 ERA in 9 innings of work.

Somebody get my gun...better yet let's give Dick Cheney a call!

Adidas410s
04-26-2006, 04:11 PM
Well at least we put in C.J. Wilson...the pitcher with the 2nd worst ERA on our roster. Then we let him pitch to a batter with runners on 2nd and 3rd and only 1 out. Always a smart move...except when Payton hits the first pitch he sees into the outfield to knock in two runs.

Oakland 6
Texas 4

F*** CORDERO!!! :flamingma:flamingma:flamingma:flamingma:flamingma

HE WILL GET NO COMPASSION FROM ME!!! :flamingma:flamingma:flamingma:flamingma:flamingma

 The two pitchers that are going bad pitch back to back, guess they like a challenge to make a comeback

I want Orel back. I thought we were really making some progress with him the past few years. He developed guys like Chris Young and Kameron Loe into serviceable starting pitchers and helped Kenny Rogers continue to prosper in his later years by getting him to pitch more "to the ballpark" than to the batters. He had very efficient guys in the bullpen that knew how to get out there, throw strikes, and get hitters out ASAP to "minimize the damage." Heck he even got Ryan Drese on a hot streak in 2004 which everybody thought was impossible.

Also...I just noticed that Drew Meyer got the start at 2B. Glad to see him getting some playing time up in the bigs. I think he is going to be a solid player for the Rangers in the years to come.

Runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out...Texiera up to bat. Let's see if he can come through for the 2nd time in about 18 hours!!! It must be noted that he is batting right handed as lefty Joe Kennedy is on the mound for Oakland.

Adidas410s
04-26-2006, 04:23 PM
and after fouling off a # of pitches Texiera strikes out on a pitch low and away...dang! Two outs...let's see if Nevin can't get it going. he's 0-4 today!

Phil Nevin walks to load the bases for Hank Blalock. Hank's been clutch as of late but is facing a LHP which he doesn't do well against. Mench is on deck if we can get there...

ball game I guess...no clue what happened! :(

Here is what is says on the MLB Gamecast:

Pitch 4 - In play, out(s) recorded

Talk about an in-depth gametracker! ;)

Was Blalock's fly ball close to going out? The gametracker shows the dot at the wall but was it that close?

+1

I'm all for Osuka closing. This is now 4 or 5 blown saves for Cordero in April. There just might be a mutiny in Texas if he gets to come out to pitch anymore...

It took me several years to learn not to get my hopes up for the rangers. They never fully address the pitching needs and woes and jsut spend money on mopre bats or get some guy that was 7-12 with the phillies or some other sucky team

I quit the Rangers back in the 70's when they traded Bert Blyleven. Man that guy had a fast ball.

Don't remember too much about his fastball but Blyleven had the best breaking ball in baseball at the time!

He's the only pitcher I ever saw that could consistently throw 107 mph fastball.

Nolan Ryan still holds Guiness Book of World Records for fastest pitch. 100.9 mph!

August 20, 1974
9th inning
crossed plate in 0.38 seconds.

Yep. He was one of a kind.

He pitched against Snyder at the state tournament when he was either a Jr or Sr in high school. Snyder played Alvin in the semi's.

Snyder didn't win the game.

JR Richards Threw a pitch clock 104 miles ph i think thats the fastest pitch ever thrown. Bert Blyleven has or had the record for most homeruns given up in a season.
