The Spurs clinched the best record in the West at 63-19, a franchise record. I don't necessarily think they'll win it all but they do have a great chance with Finley and Van Exel joining the club this year and being pretty fresh. Of course Tony and Timmy sat out tonight and they still beat the Rockets. Like I said, they might not win it all but I like their chances.
Who do you like and tell us why? No derogatory responses please.:)

Spurs. Too deep, too much big game experience.

The Spurs don't even care about the regular season and won 63 games. While everyone else is talking about the Pistons, they still have to go through the Spurs to get to the trophy, and it ain't happening this year.

As long as the Lakers get swept in the first round I'm cool with whoever wins.

The Spurs arent flashy, but they know how to win championships. They probably wont sweep a single series, but they'll be the last one standing when all the dust settles. The Pistons or Mavs might would have a chance against them in a 5 game series, but not in a 7 game series.

As long as we get Spurs vs Mavs I'm in. I won a round trip ticket from the Mavs game last night to anywhere that American flies out of Love Field...which includes San Antonio! I'm up for heading down to see the Spurs lose!:D

It doesn't matter what sport it is, everyone watches the finals. I don't really like hockey either but i'll watch the finals. I guess i just kinda have to see first hand who wins. I don't know, it's the finals! You gotta watch! Heck, a couple of people even watch the WNBA finals.

Oh yeah, and being from Texas you have to root for Texas teams. It's a rule. Duh, everyone know that.

You cant be serious!!!
I'm not saying the Pistons cant win, but I'll guarantee it will take at least 6 games, and probably 7, and a little luck.

Only if they start their second team. Spurs=OVER-RATED.

Back it up. Tell us exactly why they are over-rated. I'd say 3 championships in 7 years belies your statement.

After this season I personally think the Pistons should be the favorites. One thing about Detroit is their remarkable resiliency. I don't think they have had a major injury to a starter in two years.
.
Also, did anyone in the Western Conference want to be the 5th seed? That seeding against Dallas is so wrong, it's criminal.:o

Sweetwater Red

That and the fact that the 6th seed has
home court advantage over the 3rd seed.

I can see awarding the division winners home seeding but after the first round it should go strictly to best records for match-ups. This year though it is as bizarre as the NCAAs. I bet it's a weird year for all of basketball.

Reason? Reason? None really. I just like stirring up the nest. Actually, it could go either way IF they meet Detroit in the Finals.

Well I guess I will be alone on this one, I am a Kings fan. I am hoping I can see at least five games. The Spurs are tough, but they are not playing well and the injuries have got them lately. I think the west is wide open. If the Spurs were in 100% healthy it would be no doubt, they have experience and talent to go with it. If I was betting I would say either Dallas or San Antonio gets to lose to the Pistons.

The Kings really scare me. Don't be suprised if they go home 1-1. They have one of the greatest records since the All-Star break.
Ron Artest is a perfect pick-up for them imo. They can play D now.
