I just bought my son a bat like this. Has anybody purchased one? What are your thoughts about this bat? What is your favorite bat?

DESCRPITION:

2006 Rawlings LiquidMetal Plasma Little League Baseball Bat. 2 1/4 inch Barrel. - 12.5 Length to weight ratio. Plasma Shell Technology. Over 5X more Liquid Metal. Increased trampoline: Rawlings Plasma Shell provides 20% more barrel flex. Rawlings Sweetspot is 30% larger than previous models. Rawlings CrE Alloy (Chromium Enhanced), which is 8.5% stronger than previous Liquid Metal Baseball Bats.

PERSONAL REVIEW:

This is definately one of the very best baseball bats in the game today. Very forgiving sweet spot, great feel and tremendous pop when you make good contact. 10 for Performance and 10 for Durability. Reviewed by Anthony Kelly.

My favorite to see:

The original white TPX (or maybe Louisville slugger) ceramic bat that came out in the early 90's. I couldn't find a picture anywhere.

My favorite to use growing up was the 1st gen Easton Reflex bats.

I preferred the copper one to the gold one but both were very solid bats and (in my opinion) were better than the next line that Easton put out.

Now if I could use any bat...it would be this one!

You don't know how right you are. My 14-yr old season I fell in love with this bat and ended the season on with hits in 15 consecutive AT-BATS until I lined out to the 1st basemen in my last plate appearnce of the regular season! :( I still have one at our house in Graham. I pick it up and give it a few swings every time I'm home.

That was my personal favorite. Only problem with these bats was the end caps popped off rather easily and once that happened you needed a new bat. All the "pop" in the bat disappeared never to return even with a replacement cap. Luckily for me, I had a very good family contact that owned a sporting goods store and I just took it back to him and he would give me a new one and send my broken one back to the factory. Louisville Slugger TPX first generation "white" bats got me in to college and for that I will forever be indebted. Once I got to college the Worth Copperhead came out and we got a few samples from the rep. Those were good bats too. I don't know if those bats could be bought off the shelf yet or not. They seemed to be a little hotter than the other brands we had in stock on campus.

We have a Omaha Gold. We use it for practice. I like to get a fresh bat each year. My son loves that bat and has hit well with it.

Make mine WOOD!

A 34 inch Nellie Fox autograph model was my favorite in the day!

(Nederland Bulldog baseball in the early to mid 70's!)

ive hit with a liquid metal and wasnt satisfied with it,or atleast not as much as the connection....havent hit with the plasma yet though....

my new favorite is the stealth....its a sleek looking bat and with the Opti-Flex composite handle.....a choice of regular and stiff flex...if you remember the old redlines, thats what the hit feels like, very sweet but then again also dings up as easy as a redline would. great bat none the less.

if your wanting a bat that does the job, but will have to buy a new one every year (cost about 45$), id go with the worth powercell, the new one they just came out with is a nice looking blue unlike the traditional black. i like this bat alot acctually, just bought one and its hitting amazing, i play everyonce in a while in fort worth and hit 3 home runs in 2 games a few weekends ago with this bat

Heck I played up until 7 years ago and umpired up until this year and I never noticed the different flex types in some of the newer bats. I was just concerned with making sure that my 6" thick glasses were clean! :nerd: :p

The TPX bats are the best performance bats I have seen.
Omaha Classic has good pop.
I know kids who use the "two-piece" construction bats and unfortunately if you get sawed off inside they don't forgive as well as the regular TPX bats will.
