UT still leads the 2005-06 Showdown 8.5 to 4 but it looks like the Lady Aggie Golf team is going to get another point at the Big 12 Tournament. At the end of the first day A&M has a solid lead with UT tied for last place. The tournament continues tomorrow. The Aggies have got points from women's sports except 1/2 point.

Doesn't Texas have to reach 8 1/2 or 9 pts to clinch it?

Texas needs 10 points to cinch it. If UT gets 9.5 points they will cinch a tie for the year but would still retain the cup since they won it last year but I know that UT would want to win it outright. Men and Women's Outdoor Track are 1 point each and something drastic would have to happen for UT to not get both these points.

One thing for sure. The suspense is building up indeed though. Even though I say UT will get the Track and Field points I have been wrong before. Heck I thought Lance Armstrong would win the last Tour de France but what do I know. Oh wait - he did win it didn't he. :)
Can theAggies keep slowly pulling up and win the showdown for the year? Can Texas put it away before the two Track Meets? Can A&M pull the upsets on the track and take it? Exciting questions and suspense indeed the next two months. Hang onto your hats as we await with baited breath the results for the final points.
