anyone seen the movie CITY OF GOD? That was a great great movie. Very powerful. Came out in 2003 and i saw it for the first time the other day. I give it 5 fingers high!:clap:

I never seen CITY OF GOD. But you have apired me to go out and see it. I see it got great reviews and look forward to learning about these type of things that happend in brazil in the 60s and 70s.

My mom saw CITY OF GOD and said it was terrific, moving and left her speechless. Said the only flaw was reading subtitles for over 2 hrs. Overall she gives it 5 fingers high! :eek:

Thats funny i saw it also the other day for the first time. I never saw a movie all the way through with subtitles. It was very good i agree. Sad how things were and are like that down in Brazil. I give it 5 fingers high

I need to check out the book. I wonder if its been translated into english? I havent seen the movie yet, but want to read the book first. Thanks for the input. I see its recieve great recognition.

very powerful movie. Made me realize how thankful iam to live in America. We have our problems but the things in that movie are truly disturbing. I give it 5 fingers high

not an american type movie at all, which now days is a good thing. Movies just aint what they used to be. CITY OF God gives us hope for someone out there to keep making movies that are worth a crap. 5 fingers high!

Hutex, I hope I didnt drive you crazy by giving you a compliment . I saw the movie based on his recommendation. It is a very good story intertwining charachters into a movie that begins and ends at the same point in time.

im glad you saw it. I wish everyone would see this movie. It is a truly great movie. Rare movie compared to most movies these days.
