Anyone for Basketball ?

Just wanted to check everyones pulse. How is basketball season going? Barbers Hill is 9-4 and 2-0 in district so far. BH has hired a new coach this year and has a good chance of winning district this year, which is quit a feat knowing BH hasn't won a district title in b-ball since forever. How are the other districts doing?

Everman is the number one team in the state, and look to be a contender. Iowa Park, a rock throw away from Wichita Falls, has a pretty good team but don't know how deep they can run in the playoffs. Usually you find teams like Brownfield, Dimmit, and Seminole who advance in the playoffs from West Texas area.

Everman is 12-4 and rolling...they played all 4A and 5A competition in non-district...their only game against a 3A foe in non-district was against defending state champ Gainesville who Everman dispatched 101-56..Everman is now gearing up for the Ft Worth Whatabrger Tourney that begins on Thursday..last year Everman was runner up to 4A powerhouse Austin LBJ..

You can call Gainesville the defending state champs but they arnt the same team as lastyear

Keith...no team is the same it was last yr. And Gainesville IS the defending State Champs and will be until a new one is crowned. Its an accomplishment...wear it proudly!!!!!!!!

Does Everman have any football players playing BB? Jasper has a top 20 ranking, but they had to wait for 8 football players to support that ranking. If Jasper hangs around long enough in BB, you will recognize the names. Most of the same ones you heard in FB.

I am looking forward to the Whataburger tournament. Crandall is in the 4A bracket along with Everman. Crandall is off to a pretty good start this season. They lost last Friday night by one point to Madison in overtime. Could have won the game, but missed 16 free throws. Can't do that against a team like Madison and expect to win.

rholl...Joshua has a minor back strain. Hasn't played the last two games, which is probably a good this since we won those games by 37 and 64 points respectively. He will be back for the Whataburger tournament.

Aransas Pass should have basically the same team that went to the state semis last year and should be good this year. They are in our district and of course are the pre-season favorites even though West Oso and Ingleside may be tough too. Aransas Pass has Tommy Blake returning (yes he was the great football player) as well as Sean LaCue (I apologize if it is misspelled) and Chris Hayes. These players are good enough to beat a lot of teams but they have other good players too from what I should be told. It makes for an interesting year in our district.

Well AP is gonna have to get back on track to go far. John Heard(the QB) will have to score more points and Tommy needs a little time to get back to b ball. But when that happens we should be a good team.
