Other Message Boards

For those of you that do venture outside the 3ADL universe, do you find your self comparing those boards to this one? I know that I do. I am a member on 2 "music" boards and just recently joined the forums on cingular.com and I keep finding myself saying "man for a company with $30+ billion in revenues...the 3ADL forum is a MUCH better quality tool than this one!":D

Just wondering if any of yall use other boards...and if so what are your thoughts?

I read / post on 6 boards total. The other 5 are like friends, but this one is like family, even though I'm not that active here (I read ALOT more than I post).

I go to some other boards just to browse, but I enjoy the downlow for many reasons :)

I go to a couple of other boards, but the only one I even keep up with on a consistent basis are the about.com boards... and even then it still can't compare to the DL.

I also frequent The Old Coach and LewP's board the Pony Express. Downlow is my personal favorite. Someone said it earlier, I have friends at those other places but the Downlow is like family.

Other message boards tend to SUCK!!!
They think we don't know football, pumpkin ball or baseball! They put down our little board because of that. Who can blame them if they are so entertained by all the off-season stuff?:D

I have around 8 boards that I am a member of....but don't tend to frequent them in the off season.

The only boards I go to every single day right now is this one and the american idol board......which is a joke, they delete posts over there left and right.

I don't post there, but I read....they are good for a laugh!!

If pressed for all the other message boards I am member of. I'm a member of a couple of fireworks(well duh!) one and several Texas HS sports ones too.
I read many others and imho noone can relate as well as our board can. We have a great family atmosphere, kinda like when the family is together in the off-season. I think when so much of us comes from towns sized 4,000 to 10,000 it's easy to relate.:)

Smoaky.com based in Tyler is where most of the Buckeyes are. That's why you only see a few of us on here. It is limited to East Texas. However, East Texas by Smoaky's definition does include a larger area than you might think.

I agree that the DLow has more "personality" than all of the other boards put together, and everybody usually gets civilized responses to their posts. One of the things we might do better is to try not to "pirate" a serious sports thread in progress when there is a deep sports discussion going on. I know in the past some folks have gotten irritated because serious sports threads--- particuliarlly high school football threads--- have been just "killed" because of off-subject thread piracy. I have been guilty on a couple of occasions and I am going to try to "do better" in the future.

i don't know what it is about the down low, but i know a ton of people from it, and for the most part we take everyone in, with their faults and everything, and if they don't conform to our way, then they are gone or leave....i love that

i also love the fact that i know how to walk that fine line of almost-rom'ed-ville

I like the graphics on this board. I've been a member of 3adl for a long time. I come over here and read a lot but don't post too much. I mainly post on allsports and rgvsports, those are my two favorites. But I belong to a butt load of football messge boards. Mostly just read all the others and don't post too much. :)

i post on this site and a Las Vegas board. i tried to do a family message board for my extendex family to keep in touch. that lasted about 6 months before everybody got tired of it.
