1-3A
Perryton 4-1 (15-7)
Canyon 4-1 (12-12)
Borger 3-1 (9-13)
River Road 1-4 (2-18)
Dalhart 0-5 (1-11)

Top three teams secure for playoffs. Canyon was the early season favorite. Perryton seems to be playing the best baseball right now.

2-3A
Levelland 4-1 (14-8)
L. Cooper 4-2 (13-9-1)
Littlefield 4-2 (13-8)
Muleshoe 1-4 (13-6)
Brownfield 1-5 (3-18)

Top three teams secure for playoffs. Is Lubbock Cooper finally starting to put it together? They beat Levelland 8-3 this week.

3-3A
Seminole 6-2 (14-9)
Presidio 6-2
Pecos 5-3 (16-5-1)
Monahans 4-4
Ft. Stockton 4-4 (10-7)
Greenwood 2-5 (10-10-1)
Lamesa 0-7

Toughest district in Region I. Seminole and Presidio are looking good. After 0-3 district start, Pecos has now won 5 in a row, looking more like the team that went 11-2-1 and two tournament championships earlier in the season. Pecos @ Seminole tonight. A Pecos win and you probably have the three playoff teams. A loss by Pecos and the 3rd spot is still wide open.

4-3A
Snyder 5-0 (18-8-1)
A. Wylie 3-1 (14-5)
Clyde 3-2 (13-6)
Sweetwater 1-4 (7-10-1)
Merkel 0-5

Top three teams pretty secure for playoffs. After a tough non-district schedule, Snyder is on a roll. Abilene Wylie is a good team with wins against Presidio, Perryton, Lubbock Cooper, and Snyder earlier in the year. Snyder/Wylie showdown set for 4/25.

5-3A
Iowa Park 5-0 (15-5)
Breckenridge 3-2 (17-2)
Vernon 2-2
Graham 2-3
WF Hirschi 0-5 (1-15)

Iowa Park has beat Breckenridge twice now (5-4,1-0)-- Breck’s only losses this year. 3rd playoff spot up for grabs. A Vernon win against Graham on 4/21 and it is theirs.

6-3A
Bowie 5-1 (13-6)
Sanger 5-1 (13-8)
Whitesboro 3-3
Pottsboro 3-3 (7-9)
Pilot Point 2-4 (8-12)
Gainesville 1-5 (9-8-1)

Bowie and Sanger are in. They square off tomorrow night for sole possession of 1st place. Bowie won the first contest, 6-5, then lost to Pilot Point the next game. Whitesboro & Pottsboro play for the 3rd spot on 4/21, unless Pilot Point decides to make some noise.

7-3A
Decatur 6-0 (17-3)
Lake Worth 5-1 (12-8)
Bridgeport 3-3 (8-10)
C. Ranchview 2-4 (4-13)
Little Elm 1-5 (5-13)
FW Castleberry1-5 (7-14)

Decatur is looking strong, winning most of their district games big (22-5, 13-0). Lake Worth is beating everybody but Decatur. It drops off fast after that. Bridgeport will probably get the 3rd spot.

8-3A
West 6-1 (10-10)
Glen Rose 5-2 (14-7)
Hillsboro 5-2
Comanche 3-4 (7-11)
Whitney 2-5 (4-13)
Venus 0-7 (6-15)

Top three teams are pretty much secured with three games left. West had a 2-game lead until Glen Rose beat them last week. It will be interesting to see how they finish. Hillsboro vs. Glen Rose tomorrow night. Hillsboro vs. West on 4/25.

Thanks Gwood! Some good information there.

On a side note, Snyder faces 5A San Angelo Central tonight.

Thanx GWOOD! I was wondering how the other districts in R1 were looking. LW is loaded with sophomores so the next two years should be good for baseball in Frog Land.

Snyder will be good for the next 3 years as they have 7 underclassmen in starting lineup. The sophs composed the teenage team that won state in the 15 16 age group.

GWOOD, if you were to rank the Region I teams in order 1 -10 what would that ranking look like?

When was the last time Breckenridge made the playoffs in baseball? They have a strong squad this year, as their only losses have come to Iowa Park and if I am not mistaken they have been one run defeats, 1-0 and 5-4.
They could make some noise come playoff time. With either Heatley or Turner on the bump it gives them a solid one-two punch.

That's salty that Snyder has 7 underclassmen starting.
Looking good for the Tigers for the next few years.

If you are referring to the Region 1 Top 10 list, it is not on a website. It is not an "official" top 10 list.

I was responding to this:

Pecos should be in the top 10 easily. They beat Seminole 6-2 and they already have beaten Presidio twice this year.

Probably would have put them in there if I had made that list after the Seminole game.

0-3 start in district, particularly that 11-1 run rule in Greenwood, has made them look very vulnerable. But six straight district wins, including wins over Presidio (@home) and Seminole (@ Seminole) has put them in a great place.

Pecos and Presidio have only played once in district. Did they play each other in the Ozona tournament?

Next week, Pecos goes to Presidio on Friday (which could decide the #1 team in 3-3A) and hosts Greenwood on Saturday. Then they close out with Lamesa.
