Falfurrias got owned by Sinton a couple of games ago... and they don't really play any high caliber teams... their record is decieving

Actually, they have played mostly 5A & 4A teams in preseason. Only other loss was to 5A San Antonio Reagan. I am not familiar with those bigger schools--they may have weak baseball programs. You should probably know. Check out their site Falfurrias Preseason Results (http://www.geocities.com/jerseybaseball2006/pre-season/index.html)

Falfurrias played in the Laredo Border Olympics. This should be moved into the immigration thread! :p ;)

Well, I have to be a homer and ask where the IP Hawks are, especially given Breck at #4.

IP plays Breck today which should be a good one. Breck's only loss has been to IP. IP's losses are against the #4 team in 4A, one 5A school in a metroplex tourney and a game that did not affect their pool play in Midland in which they played many reserves (All since they have had all their team together after BBall).

none of those schools are really baseball powerhouses... play some CC Moodys, some Robstowns, Roma, Calallen, Sinton, and Odem, and then i would say they deserve a ranking that high...

I haven't had the chance to see Falfurrias play this year, but I did see them last year in a tournament at Corpus. One of the best hitting teams that I've ever seen. It looked like they invented the hit and run. Their right side hitting was unbelieveable. If this year's team is anything like last year, they deserve a spot in the top 10.

If it wasnt for Calallen hammering the Pirates both time they played, then the Pirates might have cracked the Top 10. But Fal should be up there they earned it from last year and with a good start. look for them to be the team to beat when playoffs come around for region 4

One of these four teams will win Region 1. That's as much of a "stone cold lock" as I will ever give! ;)

Well, let me reconsider. #13 is probably about right for IP. However, I don't believe Breck should be that high.

About as "unofficial" as you can get.

But, these are the teams that are doing very well this year. They are all 1st or 2nd in district and many of them have won one or more tournaments.

Hard to believe Breck moved in to the top 10 only after taking it's first loss and then jumped all the way to #4 this week. Look here tomorrow to see how the Buckaroo's fare today IN Iowa Park. They already lost at home to the Hawks who are traditionally tough at home. If you've ever seen a game in IP you'd know why. The field is chock full of hometown secrets. I know that we hated playing at home because of the choppy infield. I think my SR year we played 5 home games all year, the district games.

Breckenridge @ Iowa Park is one of the top games in 3A today.

Another one is Jasper @ Silsbee

14. Jasper 4-0, 15-7 (22-3A)

23. Silsbee 4-0, 14-6 (22-3A)

#4 Breckenridge has just taken it's second loss of the season to Iowa Park. Breck's record should now read 16 - 2. Watchout, the Hawks are on the rise.

Looking at the Ft. Worth paper, Breck is leading in many of the area statistics. Obviously, they are good, but has anyone seen them play. I heard they haven't played anyone of consiquence.

They have not had a very tough schedule Breck's Baseball Schedule (http://www.breckenridgeisd.org/HighSchool/Athletics/Baseball.htm) . Before district their biggest win was Glen Rose (4-2 in 8-3A -mediocre district, 13-7 overall). Played and won 3 tournaments, all hosted by 2A schools. Nevertheless, 14-0 in your pre-district schedule is noteworthy, but maybe not Top 10.

They have played a very good Iowa Park team to the wire both games.

Pecos is a good baseball team, did not play good in the 1st round of district but they have a very deep pitching staff. The pitching staff showed in the Sweetwater tournament!!! I think they have a good shot in region 1 if they can get it together!!
Pecos has a 16-5 record and 4-3 in district!!

No, Breck hasn't had a very tough schedule save IP and maybe a couple others. I watched Heatly pitch and the only thing I know is that he should be playing college BASEBALL, not FOOTBALL. He's a heck of a pitcher w/ a good fastball.
