THSCA ANNOUNCES 2006 FOOTBALL ALL-STARS
The Texas High School Coaches Association proudly announces the rosters of the THSCA Football All Stars who will be competing in the annual All-Star game in conjunction with the THSCA Coaching School in Austin , July 30- August 2, 2006 . The football game will be played on August 1 at the Darryl K. Royal Memorial Stadium on the University of Texas Campus . Game time is slated for 7:30 pm . The South team will be coached by George Harris of Gregory-Portland High School , and the North will be coached by Larry Dippel of Amarillo High School .

Rudd, Hagens to play in all-star game

Cuero's J.T. Rudd and Shiner's Dylan Hagens will play one more high school game before beginning their college football careers.

Hagens and Rudd have been selected to the South squad for the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Football Game.
The game, which is held in conjunction with the THSCA's annual coaching school, will be played on Tuesday, Aug. 1 at Royal-Memorial Stadium in Austin.
The 6-foot, 230-pound Rudd will play at University of Houston in the fall, while the 6-7 1/2, 275-pound Hagens will play at Baylor.
Rudd played defensive end and tight end for the Gobblers, who won the District 26-3A championship and advanced to the Division II semifinals last season. He had 57 tackles, including 32 solo stops, 28 tackles for losses, including nine sacks, 13 quarterback pressures, one caused fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
Rudd graded out at 98 percent as a blocker and had 23 pancake blocks, and nine of his 18 receptions went for touchdowns.
Rudd, who is likely to play linebacker at Houston, was selected the MVP of the Advocate's all-area team, was a first-team pick on the Texas Sports Writers Association all-state team at tight end and defensive end and was a second-team selection on the defensive line on the Associated Press Sports Editors all-state team.
Hagens played guard for the Comanches, who won the District 31-1A championship and advanced to the regional playoffs. Hagens graded out as 88 percent as a blocker and had 20 knockdown blocks.
Hagens, who could play either guard or tackle at Baylor, was a first-team selection on the offensive line on the Advocate's all-area team, was a first-team pick on the offensive line on the Associated Press Sports Editors all-state team, and a second-team selection on the offensive line of the Texas Sports Writers Association all-state team.
The head coach of the South team will be former Refugio and current Gregory-Portland coach George Harris.
Larry Dippel of Amarillo High will coach the North team.
