Who was the last great Cowboy to depart Dallas on his terms? Unless I'm overlooking someone I don't think I can remember who it would be. It seems as if injuries have forced quite a few into retirement and the others have been released and moved on to other teams to fade away. Any ideas?

I'm thinking Ken Norton Jr.

I guess i interpreted the question differently. I took it to mean retired on thir own terms. Im could be wrong but that would make 4 times this year and we cant have me setting a new record.

I didn't necessarily have retirement in mind, but it would be likely.

Norton signed as a free agent with San Fransisco after Dallas basically snubbed him. I wouldn't consider him to have departed on his own terms.

Dat retired because of injuries.

I used to hate the way Norton would punch the pad on the goalposts.

Harvey Martin just recently died in the past year or two. When 'Too Tall" retired didn't he go it boxing for awhile and he tried acting some.

Norton got more money by going to the niners, the fact that Dallas was unwilling to match their numbers still means he got his way, doesn't it?

Not if Norton wanted to stay in Dallas, but Mr. Jones was unwilling to make a fair offer.

I know he was on all the Police Academy movies as Hightower. I think he was also on the Naked Gun with Leslie Neilsen and OJ... could be wrong on that one, though.
