1994 sounds right because he was a year ahead of my older brother at Cooper and my brother graduated in 1995

Sounds like Texas has them a good recruit....

SAN DIEGO -- When the East went ahead by 20 points early in the first half, it looked like the team was on its way to a fifth straight McDonald's All-American high school boys basketball victory.

However, Kevin Durant scored 11 of his 25 points during a 17-0 run in the second half to help the West rally for a 112-84 victory Wednesday night.

"We were underdogs," said Chase Budinger of Encinitas, Calif., who had 11 points and four assists.

The big run gave the West an 89-76 lead with 8 minutes left in the game.

"The East thought they were going to come out and win this game easily, but we clamped down on them defensively in the second half and we played with a lot of inspiration," said Budinger, who will be attending Arizona.

Durant, a 6-foot-10 star from Suitland, Md., headed to Texas, and Budinger shared the game's MVP award.

Ohio State recruit Daequan Cook scored 17 points, and Spencer Hawes and Sherron Collins both had 11.

Greg Oden, the 7-footer from Indianapolis who is also heading to Ohio State, had 10 points.

Gerald Henderson, a Duke recruit, scored 10 points as the East built its 44-24 lead before the West rallied to take a 55-48 halftime advantage.

Henderson, of Blue Bell, Pa., led the East with 16 points. Thaddeus Young, who is going to Georgia Tech, added 14 points and Brandan Wright had 12.
