I need to hear from you younger posters that are in the know before I shop tomorrow night. This is not a joke, I really don't want to make a mistake.

The only reason I would buy an xbox over a ps2 is because the xbox has a hard drive and the ps2 doesn't.

no doubt a PS2 is the best game console out there...

even me and my 32 year old roommate/cousin are getting one...

get a Nintendo 64

But of your not willing to go old school get a PS2, more selection of games and online play is free. Or you can wait until 2005 and get a ps3

The XBOX is definitely more powerful as far as memory, speed etc. Both can play DVDs.

i say ps2 because the xbox graphics aren't all that, and with ps2-DVD compatability (sweet!)

My nephew's own both systems... and their dad said they play the Xbox more...

Go X Box. Hard Drive, better speed, like having a computer instead of a CD player.

My kids have a PS2, X-box and Game Cube. PS2 is played more than anything, and there is a WAY bigger selection of games in stores and Rental places!
