What is even more crazy is the aftermath of Katrina is nothing compared to that of the tsunami:eek:

whats even more crazy is that the tsunami is nothing compared to the atomic bombs dropped on japan at the end of WWII

And what's even crazier is the atomic bombs brought japan to their knees and made them seek a peacful end to a horrible war, the tsunami just got alot of people wet.

Unlike in the Pacific Ocean, there was no organized alert service covering the Indian Ocean. This was in part due to the absence of major tsunami events between 1883 (the Krakatoa eruption, which killed 36,000 people) and 2004. In light of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, UNESCO and other world bodies have called for a global tsunami monitoring system.

WOW!!! You know you just don't get the whole concept from the pictures I am sure. It is like you know it happened and you know it was bad....but dang!!! It is kind of like the OKC bombing...it wasn't until I saw it in person a few months after the fact that it really hit me.

One of the things that gets me is I can partially understand the results of a tsunami....

But I don't understand a jerk blowing up a federal courthoouse and hurting innocent people. Crazy.
