Cuero ran a 41.4 in the 4x100 and a 1:27 in the 4x200 winning both event's . This was one fast Meet the teams that were there included -
Bay City-not much of a showing
Bush-Never heard of them before today but they are quick
Clements-fast
El Campo-fast
FT. Bend Austin
Dickinson
Stafford
Victoria Memorial -good showing from their distance runners
Willowridge -quick 2nd overall
Cuero -3rd overall
Rosenberg Terry-very fast
Foster-Won the meet very fast
Louise
7-Lakes

I dont think they larger schools knew what hit em in the sprint relay's----Cuero was burning up the track .

Any idea how the Mile Relay did?

Gobbler Fan

The mile relay had 3:27*Williams-Ruiz-Clark-James* or close to that they ended up 3rd . Brandon ran just the relay's at this meet. On the girls side all I can say is -wow- some of those teams were incredible the 100 was won with a 11.8 which is very fast another time that sticks out is the 300m H for the girls which was won with a 46  .

run those times when it counts, it means nothing this early in the season, you can be the fastest team in march but when may comes it could be a different story,
times don't mean anything this early in the season.

"runners run on ground, sprinters sprint over ground"
until next time.....................

how many starters are coming back for Cuero this year in football? 3rd time might be the charm for the gobblers. They always seem fully loaded with talent

texastrack.com doesn't have them yet. Neither does the Bay City, Richmond, Rosenberg, Bay City, El Campo, or Houston papers. It is best to just wait for www.texastrack.com

Does anybody know how Sheppard and Jamelka did in their hurdles races? Or Hargrove in his individual event?

I'm partial to txrunning.com for track results. They are not always the first with the results, but I like the layout of the site better.

Very impressive times on the two relays. The mile relay time is at least 3 seconds off of last week's time in Yoakum. Last week was a 3:24.97. Is the difference explained by putting Clark on the mile relay? He has been running really well so far, but three seconds is a fair difference. Or were they just off last night?

As for next year's football team, the Gobblers should do just fine. ;)

I spoke to KJ earlier this evening and he said he threw 157 on the discus and got 1st place. I believe that is 3 feet further than last week.. Great Job Gobbler84:clap:

Cuero is now #3 in all classifications in the 4x100. Two 5A schools ahead of them. #8 in all classifications in the 4x200. Seven 5A schools ahead of them.

41.41 is really fast in the 4x100. The school record is 41.10.

I am staying with my predictions of sub-41 4x100, sub-1:27 4x200, and sub-3:20 mile relay. The 4x200 will be the easiest to get. The mile relay will be the toughest.

Has anyone heard how Sweetwater is doing this year? They were right behind Cuero last year.

Cuero is getting a brand new track this week. It will be run on for the first time at the Gobbler Relays on April 1st. That will be our chance to set those times. One thing that no one realizes about Cuero is that all of their practice has been on grass or in nearby Yorktown when they need to work on their handoffs. Pretty amazing times with so little practice.

No, it is Thursday. The track sub insisted on 14 days cure time. That makes it Thursday. Supposed to take him 5 working days. Should be ready next Tuesday or Wednesday. Just in time.
