OK I admit it, I was bored tonight so I got out the history book and came up with a new number. There are a lot of teams that have "made the playoffs" on several occasions, so I counted actual playoff games for depth reasons. While my beloved PP team has been in the playoffs 23 times in 24 years, I think the cool part is that they have played 69 playoff games since 1979. That is a bunch of friggin T-Shirts sold by the booster club. :D

Forney has made sixteen trips and played 36 games since 1979. Forney was 2A until moving up in 1984.

Trivia: who beat Forney 21-6 in the Area Round their last year in 2A? :p

Hey PPHSfan, do you know where that game in 1983
was played? Were you there?

I can go off of my head here from 1984-1987 we played 23, in '93 we played six so that's 29, in '94 it was what? 3 or 4 games PI fans? It was the round you guys beat us... We'll say three for now (which is what I'm leaning toword)... So that's 32 in 6 seasons... in '95 it
was 4, '96 1, '97 4, '98 5, '99 2, '00 1, '01 none, and '02 1...

So outta 14 years that I'm sure of there are 50 playoff games played, 5 trips to the show...

Got the correct numbers... Since 1979 we have played 52 playoff games...

I'll make a correction to my first reply, in '84 we only played 3 playoff games, sorry...

Here's some math on what I've observed in this thread...

Pilot Point Averages 3 playoff games a year since 1979...

Forney Averages 1.5 playoff games a year since 1979

Celina Averages 2 playoff games a year since 1979

Cuero averages 2.2 playoff games a year since 1979...

If you wanna find these out, go to collier-sharp.com, , click on 'team histories' and if your team is on their just go by the coach's record during the year you're looking at and anything beyond 10 is a playoff game, well, maybe not, but atleast it's a rough estimate...

Thanks for the speedy reply, I have been to Collier Sharpe, I thought that there may be a hard copy out there somewhere. Arkansas has the "Arkansas High Shcool Football Almanac" that comes out each year and is packed with past history stuff. I wish Texas had something like this, if they did it would be HUGE.
