I watched that whole game. It was pretty good.

Syracuse winning doesn't bode well for A&M. (Neither does GW losing)

I think it hurts a team like Northern Iowa getting in before it does A&M. It would be hard for the committee to put in 4 teams from the MVC over 4 teams from the Big 12.

No it doesn't and no it won't.

The MVC has been predicted to get 3-4 teams in already. Hell, even Missouri State has a great, great RPI at 21.

Missouri State - 21 (SOS - 46)
Northern Iowa - 25 (SOS - 38)
Wichita State - 28 (SOS - 57_
Southern Illinois - 31 (already in the tourney) (SOS - 61)

Texas A&M's RPI is 49 and their SOS is 84.

4 factors for A&M getting in...the first 3 of which the Selection Committee would look at

1) Texas A&M finished the season winning their last 7 games. A team's record in their last 10 games is strongly looked at by the committee.
2) Texas A&M's biggest win of the season (Texas) is better than the biggest win by any of the MVC schools.
3) Texas A&M will bring in A LOT more revenue and ticket sales to their playoff site...and thus to the NCAA.

and 4) Joe Lunardi now has Texas A&M as his 61st team in the bracket and the man has missed 1 of 65 teams each of the last 4 seasons.

1.) Yes, I know the committee looks at the last 10 games. I've always known that.

Last 10 games

Missour State - 8-2
Wichita State - 7-3
Northern Iowa - 4-6 (RPI and SOS make up for this. As well as wins over LSU and Iowa--two solid key wins.)
Southern Illinois - moot point because they are already in.

2.) Winning over Texas is big--I agree with that. But the RPI and SOS still are very weak in comparable to the others.

3.) I don't know about that. A&M won't be in Dallas like Texas will be. It's not like Aggie fans will travel to Jacksonville or Detroit to see a first round game. The revenue factor is small--albeit something someone COULD consider...not should.

4.) Yes, because once Joe Lunardi says it, it's true.

I'm not saying A&M shouldn't be in. I'm saying they aren't a lock and I can think of other teams who can get in before them. Not to mention, all of these bubble teams winning combined with others losing doesn't bode well for A&M either.

the NCAA makes their $ from CBS - $ is not a factor in determining the field of 65, revenue at games is small taters
