Carrollton R.L. Turner football coach Jody Allen said he has resigned to pursue a job as an assistant at Pilot Point in charge of the offensive line.
Allen was 13-27 in four seasons as head coach at R.L. Turner. He became an assistant coach at R.L. Turner in 1998 before taking over as head coach in 2002, when the school’s enrollment was hit hard by the opening of a fourth high school – Carrollton Ranchview – in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. R.L. Turner finished 1-9 last season.
“I felt badly about the number of losses we had this past year and the last several years, and I decided it was time to step out of the way and let someone else try to do it,” Allen said. “Every day was a challenge at Turner.”
