For those of us who actually lived through this, LOL, and for those who are just new fans-

I found their website and it's actually pretty

cool. (http://www.ledzeppelin.com/site_flash/fs_home.html)

Go back in time to when it all started.

No charge. Hehehe

i wish more of my friends would catch on to bands like Zeppelin. I've tried to get them into it.....but they just say its stupid music and im trying to be a part of something that im not. It really pisses me off....just because i wasnt born at the right time....doesnt mean im a 'poser' as they call me.

Think of it this way, your friends just don't know. Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Hendrix, Bad Co, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Peter Frampton to just name a few, can all burn the place down. Many of the great rock and roll bands of the late 60's and 70's were so innovative that their stuff is still better than anything being produced today and that is why all the rap guys are taking samples of their work and mixing it into what they are making today. If you want something that will really blow your mind with how far advanced they were for their time find a little Pink Floyd. Those guys were something special. Not my personal favorite because it is a little bit weird but it is truly amazing the way these guys made MUSIC. It's crazy how these most of these guys haven't produced anything new in 30 years and yet they are still selling hundreds of thousands of albums a year.

I hate all of their reality TV BS. Get back to the good old days of videos 24-7 and Curt Loder every 30 minutes or so with some music news.

Your friends are idiots. You don't have to be born in the 50's to realize that 90% of the rock music put out today sucks worse than an Oreck.

I actually saw the first live concert put on by Led Zepplin in the United States when no one knew who they were. It was at the Fillmore West in San Francisco. They were billed third behind Country Joe and the Fish and Small Faces. Needless to say, LZ blew all of them off the stage.

Wow Sinton, if you happen to have taken some pics of that concert, I bet they would be priceless now!
LOL Country Joe and the Fish. Haven't heard that in a day or two..LOL

I never had a camera back then, but you're probably right. I saw CCR's first live concert at the San Diego Civic Center the year before too.

I remember when MTV was Music Television. I remember when it first hit cable. It is a shame it's not like it used to be. I turned on MTV in the hotel last week and some stupid ass show called "Pimp my Ride" was on. What the hell happened to the Dire Straits cartoon video? Now that was good tv.

:D No, when you can remember the first time you see MTV and think, "Music just isn't what it used to be" now THAT's old!:D

No, OLD is when you heard the original artists perform it live before anybody even thought about MTV.:D

Ya know Sinton, CCR was one of my all-time favorites. With the blend of rock and Cajun (Run through the Jungle) I would think they could even get away with being country by today's standards. Excellent band!

I'm going to see John Fogerty Tuesday nite at the Houston Live Stock Show. CCR is easily the best band ever to come out of America.

"easily"? i dont know about that ..... all depends on what ya like, whay ya listened to growin' up, etc.

as far as "best band ever to come out of America." i'd put the eagles ahead of CCR. of course its all subjective ...

You old guys are a little too soft for me. I'd go with Skynnyrd. It's hard to beat that Southern guitar rack. Take Joe Walsh out of the Eagles and you get some sissy band like Air Supply that can't do anything but love songs. Notice that Glenn Fry and Don Henley were flops as solo artists. CCR was pretty good but John Fogerty couldn't get along with anyone long enough to move up to the top of the mountain.

Don Henley a flop as a solo artist?

New York Minute

Dirty Laundry

The End of the Innocence

A gazillion records sold

Plus, while I am a huge Joe Walsh fan as well....every guitar player on the planet knows that Don Felder was the genius behind the Eagles guitar success.

Lindsey, McDonald, Clayton-Thomas and Cetera to name a few.

I like Skynnyrd too........but who cares if the others were flops as solo artists??

I loved the Eagles as a "band", I very seldom like it them when they go Solo!

With all my "head-banging" past, I still never liked Led Zepplin that much!

I was more of an 80's band kinda girl with the big hair, skin tight pants bands!!:p :D

I agree with all of yall about MTV....I STILL want my MTV. What they have on there today is NOT MTV!!:(

They show all the old videos like MTV did in the beginning. It's almost like a "rock n roll History Channel." If you get it, make sure you don't have anything to do for a few days. You'll be hooked...

I have 8 TV's in my house, there is no way I can rationalize paying the amount of money I would have to pay to have all of those TV's hooked up to a dish.

Hmmmm

RM, if I'm not mistaken, I think they hook up like about 3-4 when they do the initial hook-up.

They do....but I have 8! I have checked into it, the price per extra TV is not worth it to me!

My wife and I went to the Pink Floyd concert in Arlington for my Birthday last November. It was just incredible. My biggest regret of all in 2005, was that I didn't take my boys with us. It was really interesting to see that there just as many young people there as there were us "grey hairs", or visa versa.:D :D
