par 3. I hit a 7 iron, the pin is about 159 good wind in our face. The punk that set the flags this morning cuts the hole on a small incline. It rolls up and rests against the pin that is blowing over towards us. Wont fall in. Rule says move the pin and if it falls in its an ace. You cant take it out but you can move it. Guess what the ball did when I moved the pin? Rolls back 2 inches. Missed the ace. Almost a good thing since I was playing in a 5 some. Didnt want the tab for those alcoholics.

We started to go play merkel today, but I didn't want to play nine holes twice. Any idea when they will be done with the other nine. Last time I was out there (about 6 months ago) it looked pretty nice.

im not exactly sure...from what i can tell, they are working on/around the greens, putting sand traps and stuff in.

when we played our tourney in merkel, it didn't take long at all. it's such a short course. our longest par 3 is like 118 yards.

Ya, that's why I've only played that course once. It was extremly short. I did have my best round ever there, but it didn't seem like it should have counted. I thought that was why they were redoing the course, so it wouldn't be so short.

i hate golf, it seems pretty boring to me, can't stand it on t.v. and the other reason i don't like it is b/c it doesn't take a real fit athlete "overall" to play,
so until next time...........

it takes an athlete maybe not the same type as other sports but still an athlete. It takes someone with extreme mental toughness to be a good golfer. Any moron can run around a track which requires no thought at all.

If Merkle could ever get some one to stay to help grow in the greens and fairways they might get finished.

I can just say as an "older" American,

I love gettin out to the course. I'm not at all any good at golf, but I love to play. To me, (for what it's worth) I think pro golfers are tremendous athletes. I see some of those shots and I just marvel at them. They definately have my vote.

how can golf be consider a sport, yes you have to have some strength mainly core stablizers that help your swing,
but you can't possilby tell me that john daily and alot of the guys on the PGA tour are athletes, no way, just look at their body build, you dont have to train "physically" as hard for golf as you do for the real sports,
just me two cents take it for what it is worth b/c someday everyone will realize my pain in correlation with golf.
until next time.................

I'm guessing that you get to try out alot of clubs. I was wondering what you thought of the G5. I'm needing to get myself a new driver.

injuredinmelee
03-05-2006, 09:44 PM
I liek the G5 but if you get one you almost have to put a non stock shaft in it. The Ping shafts IMO arent very good. I love their clubs but they need to nvest more technology into their shafts. I do like the G5 irons also esp for someone who is a high handicapper. They are very forgiving.

Taylormade gave me a set of their new R7 irons. I never hit them but gave them to my brother who had never played witha set of irons that cost more than $300. He is striking the ball better than he ever has. His ball flight is much improved and his scores are much lower since.

gracias sir. I knew the boys would be back. DO the ladies not play here because it is so long? Anyone else remember the weather last year for the round at Fairway? The wind was howling, it was about 35 degrees and it seems like it was misting. Didnt stop the Davis kid from Wylie who shot 74 then follwed it up the next week with a 65 at Shady.

I don't think the girls play at Fairway because you are supposed to either have a girls or boys round at one school's home course; however, I think one of the three sites hosts both because of the five team district.

BTW how is Wylie golf doing? I know we have a 2 day tournament in Sweetwater this friday and saturday.

So yesterday i was playing with my boss and well i hooked my ball and ended up near a ditch, when i found my ball i noticed there was a snake about 3 ft. long. Is there a rule that says i can take a drop with no penalty stroke, i read somewhere that talks about being in a dangerous situation, ie: fire ants, etc...
