Right now the Mavs are playing lights out. They have played great all year and own at least two victories over the Spurs. Avery has this team playing well and pretty good defense for the first time in forever. I'd give the advantage to Dallas but the Spurs are very tough at home.

I'm picking the Mavs based on me being a homer. I honestly don't have any idea who'll take it, but the Spurs are tough at home, and they're only one game behind the Mavs. A win here ties the division and the no.1 seed. Thanks to the NBA rules, winning the division is the difference between #1 and #4, so expect this game to be intense.

What suprised me about the earlier meetings between these teams was how much better Dallas plays defense. I saw SA wilt a little when I think they expected the Mavs to do so in the Mavs win.
.
This series is tied 1-1. I thought that Dallas had taken both games on their home floor.
What is interesting about this game is that both teams are playing at a high level for this earlier in the second half. It's always been Pop's style to bring everthing together toward the last third of the season. It looks like Avery coaching now has forced Pop to tweak and push a little earlier than usual.

I really don't care too much about who wins tonight. All I want is for one of these teams to win the finals.

Just for the heck of it, though, I am going to go with the Spurs. Hope it's a good game.

The Mavs are in control right now. San Antonio can't hit their shots to save their life. That and the Dallas D has come to play tonight.

HALFTIME

Mavs 38
Spurs 36

This is one hell of a game. The Mavs came out quick dominating the first quarter, but the Spurs came back to close the gap in the second.

That's the sign of a Champion!!!
I'd like the Spurs to win this game. They don't have to but it would be nice.

I dont see the Spurs winning the championship this year. There going to have to improve a lot and get healthy if they plan on getting past the Mavs in the second round.

I do agree with you ev on one point. With Duncan and Manu both fighting injuries this year it does look somewhat doubtful. But at the same time something could be said about having their best two players hobbled most of the year AND having a shot at the best record in the west tonight makes me think they are doing just fine. They are most playoff tested team in the west now aren't they? Don't write them off...
.
and so far it looks like TONY is coming into his own. He's gonna wake up some folks in the playoffs imo.

Mavs absolutely fell apart at the end, and the Spurs played lights-out.

I can't wait for this series in the playoffs. It's going to be a classic.

I don't think the Mavs fell apart so much. That SA defense might have had something to do wit it.
.
Great game regardless.
