So i'm at church tonight right..and i hear sirens and stuff...about 20 mins later we catch word that someone burned up part of tiger stadium..apparently they burned the pole vault mat and ruined two lanes on the track, i dont if thats absolutely true, i havent seen the track since it happened, but thats what the word is.

yes it is true...we had a track meet scheduled here this weekend so we dont think know if we will be able to have it still....It makes me so mad why would anyone do that?!

on a serious note, thats crap and i hope whoever really did it gets caught and punished thoroughly

i've also heard that they caught the kids who did it...they said it was some lil kids or something, but i doubt it, i bet it was some HS kids or possibly some S'water kids! Nah..ya'll arent that terrible, but i think we have a camera that looks out over the track, so who knows.

We have had a really bad day with fires. We were assisting Borden County with a large grass fire when we received a call of a house fire west of town. I was first truck on scene and fire was already through the roof of the house. Bystanders stated that they couldn't find the lady of the house so me and a volunteer
put on gear and entered structure. We didn't stay but a couple of mins due to heat and fire. Anyway we were busy with this house fire when the call came in about the fire at Tiger Stadium. I just hope they catch the pieces of crap who started this fire. It is totally uncalled for.

Looks to me like 04 is just a little to happy in that pic, maybe you weren't really trying to degrade the tiger, more like trying to fufill a fantasy (beastality). Don't be so lazy chase down a goat, leave our tiger statue alone.

Seriously. I hope they catch the little mongrals that did this. That is inexcuseable behavior. It's gonna cost a lot of money to repair the damage to the track and replace that mat.
All we had was a cinder track when I was running at Sweetwater. Snyder’s track was the first track of it’s kind I ever ran on. I think it was one of the first in West Texas, as far as I know. I remember thinking it was one of coolest things I had ever seen at the time.
We only had long spikes at the time, so they had to issue short ones to us at the track meet. And they checked every runner before every race to make sure you had the short spikes in. The track was brand new, and they sure didn’t want it torn up.

At worst a couple of lanes about 8 ft wide would have to be patched and that can be done without much problem as I understand.

nah...im grateful for what i am and for what i have achieved, and im grateful that im even here today to be typing this cuz as most know that all nearly ended for me when i had my car wreck, and when ur about 10 minutes from bleeding to death, you realize there are more important things in life than being all american....

They had suspects in custody. Charges may be pending. Snyder does not have an pole vaulters in high school right now. Guess there will not be any pole vault point being scored at the CR.

A decent pole vault mat is in the thousands, and it will probably be in the thousands to repair the track (the right way)

I remember when I was still in high school when we first got that new track. Someone came out the day that they first allowed us to used it and dig up a huge chunk of it right in front of the field house doors. We were told that it cost somewhere in the rage of $2000 just to repair that. Can't imagine what this is gonna be.

No they didn't catch them. They had names of possible suspects but after the fire marshal interviewed them he said they weren't involved.

Well, hopefully the "thrill' of what they did will be too much to contain.

That's what got the kids in Greenwood caught, they couldn't keep their mouths shut!!

For real, all of this Sweetwater-Snyder stuff aside. That's just plain stupid. I feel really bad for y'all, that sucks. I hope they catch whoever was responsible because no matter where they were from thats just not having any class. And before I get all worked up and start bleeding black and gold I'm gonna go.
