"Duel"...great movie....Steven Spielberg's first directorial effort. If you haven't seen it, it's a must.

He also played McCloud.

Duel was awesome!!! I loved that movie.

He was terrific as Chester on Gunsmoke. He also was hosting the Encore Western Channel. He will be missed. Duel was a great movie and should be seen if you haven't seen it. Even though it never shows the truck driver's face it was Carey Loften who was a famous stuntman in Hollywood during that time and was in charge of the car stunts in that movie.
Weaver was also in another tv series Gentle Ben about a Bear and was popular eve though it only lasted two seasons because the producers said there is only so much you can write about a bear. Bart Starr of the Green Bay Packers and Bob Gibson of the St. Louis Cardinals made guest appearances in this series after their teams were champions in football and baseball.
As mentioned he was great as McCloud which was obtained from an idea by the Clint Eastwood movie Coogan's Bluff.

If you get the Sundance Channel you can watch Duel this Saturday starting at 7:30 A.M. and if that is too early you can record it. It is on several other times in March on that channel and you can consult your tv guide to get the other times and dates.
