play in a Houston Tournament this weekend. 2 games today (thurs) and at least one more game on sat.

No disrespect intended, but it seems like Wharton is always overrated in every sport.

I am saying year in and year out they are underrated in baseball, as for this year I don't know I have not seen the team. BTWDA- There are 2 other teams in the district that are ranked higher than #20. The opening one run win over Tidhaven kinda scares me.

Gato, you idiot, he didn't say anything close to Wharton being a lock. He said they were not overrated. The last time I checked they were ranked third in the district behind Columbia and Sweeny. So, they may not be overrated, and still only finish third. Let's just let it play out.
Thurs:
Beat CE King (4A) 7-1
Lost to Strake Jesuit (5A) 9-6
was up in the Strake game 2-1 after 5 innings, had a let down in the 6th, gave up 8. battled in the 7th, had the tying run at the plate

i think he talks more smack about wharton....becasue his kid did sit the bench...than he helps BC where he has family that works.
Glad to hear that he is not yet bashing me as a track coach, BUT I am sure that is to come! He'll say that we run the 4x400 wrong, we should turn right and finish last!

I teach them to make an "L" with the thumb and pointer finger and that solves the problem, we are still working on it this year so I am not sure if we can run relays tomorrow. We may have to give it another week!

BU97,i have nothing negative to say about your track program,i will give you your props there.Before you got here the track program was the pits,wharton now has one of the best track programs in the region,you have done a great job there.I know you think i have something against you i really don't have anything personal against you,i just have my opinoin on certain things when it comes to football thats all.

I have been going there for about 5 years and it has been good weather maybe once. Last year it was cold as crap and raining. I only had a handful of kids and was ready to go home BUT my bus was blocked in and we had to stay until they canceled the meet! I was not happy.
I hope the rain will clear out so we can at least run.

baseball got rained out on sat.
There will be a varsity and JV game vs Boling at Wharton on tuesday (2/28).
Also, Thurs- sat wharton will be hosting its tournament...with teams coming from as far away as El Paso.
i know that! i thought i would ask since everyone was talking about wharton.
so how is off season going for wharton football? "just wondering since there are wharton coaches on this board."

Seriously, there are about 4 who could have a shot, we'll know more when we get into pads in the fall!
i know its a while away but what about the o-line and d-line? i know yall lost a few good lineman. And do you know where the Salinas kid is going to go to school?
Linemen is a question, we have some good ones but not enough, some young kids will have to step up.
Salinas is likely to go to UMHB, along with Krejci and maybe Simpson.
What about the Lunford kid? Also do you know where Tony Brown is coaching these days?
Brown is coaching at Beumont Central, the HC Stowers is another Giddings guy.
yeah i heard he was in beaumont but someone told me he was at Ozen. Hope to catch up with him one day
