NEW ROCKDALE HFC/AD TO BE NAMED NEXT WEEK
(ROCKDALE) A new Rockdale ISD Athletic Director could be named as early as next week. The Rockdale School Board interviewed the three finalists for the position this week, and is expected to hire a replacement for Robby Clark during a regular meeting Monday.
Finalists are Jeff Miller, Head coach and athletic director of Class 2A Jacksboro; Bo Robinson, Head coach and AD of class 2A Bangs; and David Husmann, Head coach and A.D. of Class 3A Gladewater.
A 7-member screening committee reviewed 232 applicants for the job. The board then accepted the recommendation of the committee finalists. None of the district’s current staff applied for the position.
Current A.D. Robby Clark, 35, informed the administration in January that he had been offered a job as head coach at Midlothian ISD. In his first season with the Tigers in 2004, Clark posted a 6-5 record and a berth in the Class 3A Division II playoffs.
