Two area schools to appeal realignment

08:40 PM CST on Saturday, February 18, 2006
By MATT JACOB / The Dallas Morning News

Two of the eight appeals the UIL will hear on Monday about reclassification and realignment will concern area schools. Wylie is hoping to be reassigned to District 10-5A – seven Garland ISD schools and Rockwall – and out of a District 9-5A that includes schools from Plano, Allen and Richardson.

Keller ISD athletic director Bob DeJonge will present other options for the placement of Fort Worth North Side and Fort Worth Western Hills. Those two schools were placed in District 6-4A for all sports other than football.

I agree. Live with it. Wylie has been a great athletics program as they grew in 4A. Now, they have become the smallest school so they are complaining.
Step up and make the best of it for the next two years.

i really DO have respect for the Wylie program - first class facilities on par with any school in Texas ... but this appeal will not be approved - it will cause two 8 team districts to become a 7 team and 9 team district .................. ain't happenin'
