In need of some windows 2000 help

OK I go a computer at this temp job and its got windows 2000 on it.. well my mouse has a scroll wheel on it but its not working. when i go click on start and control panel and mouse and the select the mouse and look at the properties it says it is supposed to assume the wheel is there.. anybody know why its not working or give me tips to figure it out????:nerd:

Probably need drivers. Figure out the model # of the mouse and go to the company's website. You should be able to download drivers there.

I have no idea what i did but i went to show somebody it wasnt working and we both tried to get it to work and then all of a sudden something happened lol.
