15??? Are you serious? Okay I know Snyder is good but this the the Playoffs. You have to be able to score more than 15 points in a game. More proof that our Playoff System is watered down. But you also have to see the other side that Wylie might not have even made the playoffs the year they won state if it werent for the 3 teams. It would have had to go to a tie breaker system .

You are right about that although, I think the Lady Tigers get past Canyon.

Our girls were ranked in the top ten 3 or 4 years back going into the playoffs and had to play canyon. They routed our girls by like 60 points, then went on to win the state championship with ease. They were head and shoulders above everybody else. Our girls looked like a little dribblers team against them that year.

They have been the team that took our girls out the last couple of times we were in the playoffs. This years lady tigers are a much more complete team so I hope the outcome will be different.

i belive that The Canyon Lady Eagles were ranked as the best team in the Country that year. They could have beaten just about anyone.
top girls team that is. everyone knows a 1a boys team could have beaten em... lol had to throw that vial of gasoline on the fire to stir up the ladies...

I don't know. With our boys coach I think that our Tigers would have been the underdogs in that matchup!:D

One of the proudest moments I have had as a Bearcat fan is when our girls played them in the regional tournament that year and were within 4 points in the last quarter but ended up losing by 12 or something like that when our star player was injured and had to leave the game. Nobody else even came close to them that year. I think 3 girls on that team went DI.

I saw Canyon at the state tournament that year...they were the best team there period.

Amarillo Palo Duro - #5 in 4a by 3 points
Lubbock Trinity - #1 and defending State champs in 2a TAPPS by 12 points (later in yr beat them by 15)
Ft. Worth Dunbar - #2 in 4a (last yr's 4a state champs) by 4 points
Clovis, NM - #1 in 5a New Mexico (defending 5a state champs) by 6 points

Looks like the game Thursday night should be a very good matchup.

Snyder has lost 3 times.

Split games with 3A #5 Abilene Wylie
losing by 3 and then winning by 3

Split games with 3A #13 Merkel
losing by 3 in overtime and winning by 15

I think the other loss was to Andrews, not for sure. All I know is
overall 26-3

I agree with you mresacape, it looks to be a good game. I hope Snyder brings their "A" game as it appears they did against Greenwood. Looking forward to it!

Unfortunately, I think they could have brought their B and C game and still had the same outcome...just maybe not quiet as a big margin of points!!:(

I just dont see how there is that much talent in Canyon. You can say what you want about coaching but when you are THAT good every year you have to have a lot of talent....where does it come from?

Basketball is huge in Canyon! I think they start them when their still in diapers up there. It's too dang cold to go outside, so they stay in the gym.

Back when I was the camera man for the Lady Stangs when I was in hgih school, I remember one time when we played Canyon, we had a good sclub that year and I was blown away by the way Canyon played ball, they are on a court above the rest. I think Canyons girls could beat some guys teams with ease
