It's going to be interesting the next couple of years. For the first time in the history of SHS, if the Pirates make the playoffs in football, they get to play in Div. 2. I don't exactly think it'll get much easier than before, but it will be interesting.

I think some years the better teams are in D2. Let's just say faster teams seem to be in D2. Yeah it'll be interesting to see how Sinton can handle D2. That's if Ingleside can make the play-offs.

You guys better hope we make the playoffs.

Well, if Hidalgo or La Feria (or both for that matter) make the playoffs along with Port Isabel, there's a chance of seeing a Sinton / Port Isabel matchup.

I'd love to see that.

Am I correct in recalling the fact Sinton / P.I. have only played each other twice? Once @ State-Quarterfinals in 1990 where Sinton won 21-7, and the other matchup in 1996 in the 2nd round with P.I. beating Sinton 40-20.

I think that's correct, that's the only two times I remember.

Sinton should be okay this year. We lose the quarterback and both primary receivers, but return Ring and Collins. Josh's brother Wes is the likely starter at QB. Haven't seen him throw, but he looks faster than Ramirez.

I think it's exciting that Sinton might go division 2 if they make the playoffs. Unfortunately that might also mean a first round match-up with Cuero and with the Gobblers success of late that would be a tough draw, depends on Gonzales.
Just the thought of playing some new teams is pretty darn cool.

Don't forget that Sinton returns 8 on defense.

Hope Ingleside makes the playoffs and that we can secure a spot as well...should be interesting! :)

I believe you are correct, seems we always play East-West first round with D29, then North-South with the survivor of D32 and D31.

We also get an extra round in D2.

Not sure on this. Seems I remember reading an article where our coach was quoted saying that District 30 would meet District 29 in Bi-District competition.

You are right, Sinton would play a team from District 29 in the first round.

Then it would depend on seeding. If Sinton and Cuero both won their respective districts then they wouldn't meet in the first round.
