You know...I have one myself that my daughter set up for me and I'm 42.

As many bad things that you hear about it I am glad I know how to manuever my way through it. I know my kids passwords and they know I can go check theirs at any given time.

I actually found an old high school friend through myspace. I don't live on it like lots of the younger crowd does....but I didn't know their was an age limit either!

What amazes me more than anything is how many parents DON'T know their kids have it.

What's next, RM, text messaging your husband every 5 minutes and "giggling" in between receiving text messages from your friends?

Receiving text messages about scores during football season is great., RM--I'm refering to the behavior of teenage girls.

myspace and continuous text messaging= teenage girls.

Can't say anything about the "continuous" text messaging, but I think there are a few "over teenage" women on myspace that would beg to differ with you.

Luckily, I have never been one who gave a rat's patooty about what anyone else thinks of me! The fact that I have one seems to bother a few posters for some reason!

I would say 75% of friends on mine are from the downlow.....the other are either family or friends.

I am 40 years old and have a place on my space : its myspace.com/surgtech I find nothing wrong with this, I have friends from work and friends from the downlow and I also have MY BROTHERS BAND as one of my friends.......and for text messaging I text my 19 year old son ALL the time....he lives in another town......It is actually cheaper for him then running up his minutes. And I actually really don't care what people think of me....either you like me or you don't...and if you don't then I didn't need you as a friend anyway !!!!!!!!!!

I think Chief's original post was directed at either me or kaorder. He's 26 now. I'll be 26 in a month.

I actually found out about myspace from a bunch of old college buddies that no longer have college email addresses. They wanted to keep up with old friends but couldn't get on facebook. From what I've seen, seems like it started with us "old farts" and trickled down in age.

I don't think it matters how old you are, if it helps you keep up with old and new friends it can't be all that bad, even for us folks on assisted living.

I'm older than Ranger_Mom and I love myspace. My daughter and all her friends have it, and we message back and forth. It's a good way to keep in touch with kids after they go off to college.
