I caught a 26 inch Bass this afternoon. I thought it was a catfish for along time then when I saw it I thought it was a carp! lol It was about 12 inches tall at the largest point. All I managed were 3 pictures with my sorry little camera phone. Wow what an afternoon. Kinda helps me get over not being an hour from the bay.

No I did not have a scale out their I never dreamed of catching anything that I would need it for. I caught about 25 other bass that were all between 5 in and a foot and all less than a pound.

Probably will go between 5 and 7 lbs depending on how healthy it was.

From the rough measurements I took, there is a formula that puts it between 10 and 12 lbs

26 inches? That's well over 5 pounds. More like 9 or so. I caught a 5 and a 6 week before last and they weren't that long.

I have caught them 29 1/2 inches and they only weighed 7 lbs. Depends on lake and time of the year. Fish should be healthy now as they are feeding for the spawn. The fish could go as much as 10 or 11 lbs, but it would have to be very healthy.

Isn't 29 1/2 above the world record??? Why haven't I ever read "29 1/2 Jody says WOS Sucks" in the record book???

My 2 largest bass were only 23 1/2 inches long and weighed
8.6 and 9.0. The record bass at the lake I fish was only 25 3/4 inches long and weighed 14.92.

Here's a link to one of many fish weight calculators.

http://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html

According to your measurements and this calculator, your fish weighed around 6.76 lbs. Of course, these calculators are no substitute for a good scale.
