He coached at Mississippi from 1947 to 1970 and had many great teams play there including Archie Manning who had a good NFL career and is the father of Eli and Payton. Mississippi and LSU played great games while he was there and he had outstanding teams consistently. He played UT in the 1962 Cotton Bowl that UT won in a great game 12 to 7. UT also beat them in the 1966 Bluebonnet Bowl 10 to 0. A great coach and outstanding person. RIP coach. :(
