Goliad Loses

I read on another board Goliad lost 64-55 to George West in OT.

Any idea what happened? Sinton beat Aransas Pass tonight by 5 points I believe.

I checked caller.com and the score of the Goliad - George West game was 56-64. Only 4 of Goliad's players scored any points.

I'll tell you what happened.. It is the CURSE of the big newspaper article.. Happens all the time.. the newspaper does a huge article with color pictures etc - and BAM - almost a sure thing .. that team will unexpectedly lose.. There was a nice article with color pics in Fridays Victoria Advocate featuring Goliad and the 2 leading scorers etc..... I didnt' realize George West was in Goliad's district :doh:

They are not in George West's district, and I believe that George West is a 2A team.

my bad, I just assumed playing this late in the season, it was district

Well, the Caller-Times has done it again...the results I posted last night from their website don't match the results they printed in this morning's paper. The newspaper shows Goliad winning 55-54 in OT. Apparently they can't add though because the scoring numbers are the same as what was posted before and don't add up to 55-54 so the website score must be correct.

That was the 4th time they have played, GW won the last meeting. GW is good, they split with Sinton, and beat Aransas Pass and Ingleside. They have a 6'7 and 6'5 kid plus the best pg in the area!!!! That will give almost anyone problems.
