New Boston must have dropped as well. They decided, rather than take in Gilmer along with Pittsburg and Mount Vernon, to just settle for a 5-team district in that NE corner of the state.

Also Jefferson. The 3A ranks were decimated in NE Texas.

I think this is indicative of the population shift ... it is so hard to make a decent living in that part of the state ... mostly blue collar jobs with low wages ... also, with Red River Army Depot lowering its workforce slowly over the years. Just think, New Boston, DeKalb, Hooks, Linden-Kildare, Jefferson, Hughes Springs, Paul Pewitt and Clarksville were in the same 3A district (when I was in school) and now ALL are in 2A.
