Yeah, I thought Breck was going to be the smallest team in whichever district it got place in. Apparently not though...

shocking....no 2-3A and 4 team districts....

Aesculus gilmus

Coach Traylor of Gilmer has found favor with God again. The Buckeyes will roll through that district with our usual average margin of victory of 40+ points. Gilmer has not lost a district game since October 2000 and this is one reason why. Easy pickin's in terms of district foes.

It would make more sense, even in terms of transportation costs, to stick the Buckeyes into that northeast corner district Pittsburg just moved into rather than Mount Vernon.

I feel very sorry for Mount Vernon. The Purple Tigers won't make the playoffs, even in a 5-team district.

3, 4 team districts in Region 1? Wow, thats nuts! I thought they were going to do away with as many 5 team districts as possible. But I never dreamed there would be 4 team districts.

District 7 looks good it will be tough in football for the 1-2-3 seed.
District 3 will be a battle for the 1-2-3 seed in football.
District 1 I dont know how Anthony,Clint,Fabens,Tornillo are but they used to be terrible so I dought they are any better. hek Pecos could get in the playoffs next season.

Ummm....

I'll have to get back to you on that one.

Seriously though, an 8 team district when you have 4 team districts all over the state? That's a load of :flamingma manure.

I'm pretty sure that this is the first time in history, that Sweetwater has been the furthest team west, in a district.

I'm looking forward to going east for a while. We've been going west and north for a long time. It'll be a welcome change.

Is Wylie the largest school in 3A now? If not, who is bigger?

wyliepop
02-02-2006, 04:37 PM
Wylie is near the top but there are several above them
Burkburnett - 947.5
Athens - 947
Pleasanton - 944.5
Wylie-916
We'll be the largest in 7AAA but not in ClassAAA
Not likely to stop the jealousy and remarks of Wylie cheating though When your successful there are always others that would rather whine than improve

None have won it but a few have been close...

Six of the 8 teams were in the playoffs last year.

Silsbee lost in the first round.
Jasper lost in the 2nd round
Kirbyville lost in the 3rd round
HJ lost in the first round
BC lost in the 3rd round.
WO-S lost in the semis.

Gonna be some disappointed coaches next couple of years with good teams that don't make the playoffs.

HF and Orangefield are usually competitive as well. I bet there are a lot of surprised people in SE Texas right now with this district.
