Top recruit Mouton picks Michigan over Texas
By Alan Trubow | Wednesday, February 1, 2006, 01:12 PM
The Texas Longhorns’ late push to land one final piece to their 2006 recruiting class fell just short.
Jonas Mouton, a defensive back ranked No. 45 nationally by Rivals.com, chose Michigan over Texas, the University of Michigan said in a press release. Mouton is going to make a public announcement at 8:30 p.m.
Mouton’s commitment might have vaulted the Longhorns to one of the top five classes in the nation. Instead, the national champions probably will finish sixth or seventh according to most national prognosticators
