We have finished with our 3A predictions. Your own Matt Stepp was the main guy for the 3A projections, since he is the expert on the topic. Of course the rest of us had our own thoughts also.

As we have said we made our realignment materials free because of the harrasment from newspapers. :-) Really they wanted to run the material so we took it off of premium so they could.

Thanks man. I hate the Five team District. But it'll be pretty cool with Greenwood in with us.

Dang a 5 team district for Decatur doesnt sound very fun. At least it will have the competiton factor with Bridgeport and Gainesville

5 team district does stink. but that would be a fun district to be in.

I guess that would bring an end to the strongest 3a district. Spliting Snyder, Sweetwater and Wylie up ends the mighty 4-3A dominance

basketball only schools are un-Texan. if ya have enough kids to play football and you refuse to, ya shouldn't get to play anything else. well maybe guys softball since they're to soft for a real sport.

In the last 2 years

1 state champion Wylie (2004)
2 state semifinalists Snyder (2004), Sweetwater (2005)
2 state quarterfinalist Wylie (2005), Sweetwater (2004)

so 32-3A would just be four teams? Weird projection

Thats not right they're missing Rio Hondo, Raymondville and Lyford....Lyford is the only school that could possibly drop to 2A.

then go ahead and throw in a few more state qualifiers and champions in spring sports...

4-3A has done better than just about any other district across the board in the last year +...and look for them to pick up a few more golds in the spring too!

That is true, I was referring only to football. One way to look at it is 2 of the top 10 3A schools in the state last year were in district 4-3A. Wylie was 2nd and Snyder was 10th in the lone star cup.

Not bad!:D

Their predicting Wylie is moving up to 4a. Looks like if this happens there will be some happy people out there.

Wow!
With Sinton and Mathis confirmed at 585 and Ingleside at 609, it looks like my Pirates could definately go div. 2.
That doesn't mean an easier road but lately all the great teams have been div. 1 in region 4.

I think the new 19-3a will be Taylor, Hutto, Rockdale, Caldwell, Cameron, and Giddings.

The only thing I like about these 5 team districts is that you can schedule a couple more games against teams outside your district that you always wanted to play. If Barbers Hill and Huffman both move up as you have predicted it takes away both of our rivals and two of the tougher games we play each year.

so it's most likely we're outta here. Anybody have a link to a 2a district projection?

I sure hope they put Andrews in district 2 and leave Snyder in district 4. That is just too good of a rivalry to break up. Even if we play in non district, it wont be the same. Hell, we are only 38 miles apart. Andrews is out in the middle of nowhere, + 20 miles.
We did have great rivalry with Andrews back in the 80s though. Maybe they will get their program back in shape, now that they are dropping down. The Greenwood rivalry isnt bad, but we just dont have enough history there yet.
I just hope Snyder stays in district 4! Who we gonna hate on?

The UIL has already said that districts will consist of 6 teams. Unless I read incorrectly.

OK, I got a map out and layed out districts 2, 3, & 4 to where they make some sense travel wise. If the UIL is really concerned about travel. This is the best that can be done for these 3 districts. This is assuming that Wylie jumps to 4A.

District 2:
Andrews
Levelland
Lubbock Cooper
Brownfield
Seminole
Midland Greenwood

District 3:
Pecos
Ft. Stockton
Monahans
Clint
Fabens

District 4:
Lamesa
Snyder
Sweetwater
Merkel
Clyde

If Merkel drops to 2A, move Mid. Greenwood from 2 to 4.
Or, if Wylie stays 3A, they stay put, and Lamesa still comes in.
Alot depends on where Merkel & Wylie end up in classification.
