Liberty down to Silsbee by 17?

I know nothing about Silsbee but I haven't heard them talked up as much as Liberty has been. Do people that know the two think that line is good?

Silsbee by at least 17.

Aledo over Forney by 15 ... thats seems a bit much, but I'd put Aledo as the favorite. In fact I can see the Rabbits entering the playoffs with 1, 2 or 3 (Aledo, Horn, and/or Commerce ???) losses - or none. Either is a possibility with this team. But no matter they WILL be a force in the post season.

Gilmer by 29 over Gladewater at Gladewater.

I don't know. I think we are good, but not THAT good yet, especially in a traditional rivalry this hotly contested over the years.

I'd say Gilmer by 14 would be more like it.

4A Palestine by 40 over Cleveland. I know Cleveland isn't playing its best ball as of late but 40 points!! I don't know anything about Palestine but I didn't think they were that good.

Decatur over 4A Birdville by 23? Seems a little high...expect it to be closer.

I know a little about Palestine and they are not 40 pts better than Cleveland. Palestine's offense revolves around their stud rb and their defense is ok. If Cleveland can slow the run and eat up some clock they can stay within 14-21 pts of Palestine.

I'm an optimist by nature, but this time, I'd really have to say I think that Burnet will lose their opening game to a red-hot Reagan. I have a strong feeling about this, and I sure hope I'm wrong.

So, how many yard will Peterson have by halftime? He is one heck of a RB.

I think it would be a character building experience if it does happen. Reagan had a new coach with a new program when they played us last year, and we blew them away... I think those guys are gonna be hungry for revenge, and I think their program has grown a great deal this last year. We'll see. My heart is with our Dogs though!

Silsbee by at least 17.I agree, I think Silsbee will be that good. But, then I don't know how good Liberty is. Maybe they will surprise me.

I went to texasfootballratings.com and they have Liberty as a 17 point favorite over Silsbee. Do you think they left the minus sign out?

They also have the Hill by 14 and Cleveland only 15 down to Palestine. Unless Cleveland lays down in depression late in the game, that seems like a more realistic line to me. I think it should be closer to 15 than 40.

I would say that if Liberty beats Silsbee by 17 points, then Liberty is in the Drivers seat for the Div. II State Championship!....I would place little regard on some of these predictions-like...Bridge City 26 points over LC-M. That might have been a viable pick at the end of the season last year; however, LC-M has picked up a big bunch of transfers from WO-S, Port Arthur Memorial, and others. They have some of the best seasoned speedsters from Orange County, and also Jefferson County, that have joined their squad.

I could see Silsbee beating Liberty by around 17..Palestine by 40 over Cleveland is a bit much...Palestine has the best back in the state yes...but the rest of the team isn't that good..Gilmer won't beat Gladewater by 29...that game is ALWAYS close.. I'd take Gilmer by 10 though..

OC, LCM is picked by collier-sharp to beat BC by 8..is that an accurate assessment?

Matt, It's hard to tell, they have picked up so many transfers that I just don't know...They now have a fast seasoned backfield; trained at other schools. We will just have to see...I do think that BC will be in good shape the next three years, based on the talent that is available. Our 9th grade did a number on Silsbee, who has been touted in the 20-4A ranks, they were also undefeated last year and I predict they will remain that way this year. The JV is good, even with 6 Sophomores starting for the Varsity....I heard that Port Arthur Memorial is awesome, they combined 3 schools last year, and have a great amount of bulk talent. They whipped WO-S in a scrimmage, but some of the WO-S starters now play for LC-M.

Whichever way the Ballinger/Greenwood game goes - I think it will much closer than 15 points!!

I looked back a Jerry's texasfootballratings.com-and he did pick Liberty (17 points) over Silsbee, on both the 4A and 3A pages. I also saw he picked LaMarque to beat Nederland by 13 points...On careful analysis, it appears that last years scores were heavy factors on this years picks. When you are many miles away and have never seen teams play, I guess you have to rely on something..
