Folks I believe the 3A #s both top and bottom will stay the same or change very little ( 10-15 ). The reason I feel this way is because the numbers changed none the last time and people thought they would, and also the plan to increase the number of playoff teams in 5A. I believe this will increase the # of 5A schools and have a ripple effect on the rest. It would not suprise me if the top 3A# even when down by 30 or so... What do the rest of you think.

I've already thought way too much today. I'm sending my brain back to bed. :D

i don't know if this has anything to do with the thread (i didn't feel like reading the opening post), but i have heard from some pretty reliable sources that:
1) Barbers Hill turned in 1100

2)LaMarque (4A POWERHOUSE) turned in 1000

this would mean that either Lamarque is moving down and Barbers Hill is moving up, or that both teams will be 3A next season. can't wait to see how things shake out.

dont think so. I believe 1,000 and 1,100 are solid 4A numbers

i've heard that the way they are going to do it is:

1) make 5A big enough to have 4 playoff teams

2) make 1A big enough to take 3

3) make 2A have six teams districts

4) make 4A have all six or eight team districts

5) give 3A whatever is left over

some say that the 3A # might be over 1000

No way this alignment! maybe in 6-8 years but not in one unless they make a whole other classification.

you don't read well do you? The 3A number went from 779 to 799 to 849 to 899 over the last 4 reallignments. SO...I doubt that it stays at 899 or drops down. So you can keep hoping that Wylie goes 4A...but it's highly unlikely! Keep enjoying 2nd and 3rd place in the district in most sports! :D

we have Abilene Wylie as the last school in Class 4A.....we figured the UIL is wanting to eliminate the disparity in 3A as much as possible and 4A may expand some since it has the room....plus we think the UIL may want to keep 2 districts in west texas in 4A.....with Andrews dropping Wylie is right near the cut where they make a good fit in 4A with Big Spring, Frenship Lakeview, etc......4A has no set # so it can fluctuate some...indications are the top in 3A will only rise slightly this time but the bottom will rise in order to cut the disparity some....

Class 4A will be 916-1976........according to us at least....it'll be fun on Thursday

I see. I wish our district would stay as it is but that isn't going to happen.
