Sweetwater Mustang football players, Skye Green and Joseph Banyard have been invited to the 1st annual USA All-American football camp @ Northwood University in Midland Michigan, May 26-29th.It's the 1st football camp designed to bring top players in the country to one place (like they do in basketball), so all 117 D1 schools can see them at one camp. They will only be taking 100 players at each position: QB,RB,WR,OL,DL,LB,S/CB. 700 of the best players in the country at one camp. Frank Baskerville is one of the staff members that they will have there, he is considered to be the number1 speed specialist in the country. The website is being designed and will be complete by the end of January or early February, if you want to check it out.... www.dtssports.com

The camp will cost each young man $425.00, which will include room and board. Besides the cost of the camp, each young man and/or family will have to arrange for transportation to and from as well. As you can imagine, this will not be a cheap trip for the families to have to fund completely on their own. With guidance from the UIL, some of us are trying to help raise the necessary funds needed to cover as much of the expense as we can, to keep the families from having to carry the entire burden on their own. If any of you have any ideas for fundraising or would like to contribute in any way, please let me know. As I mentioned above, we will be getting guidance from the UIL, to make sure we do not violate any rules in regards to fund raising for this purpose. I have sent correspondence to the UIL director of athletics and am awaiting a reply now. If any of you have any first hand knowledge of any possible rules violations that we need to be aware of, please fell free to get this information to be as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for any assistance that you may offer.

a few W.C. players got an invite, but you can't really call it an invite when it costs 425 bones to attend

Any good camp is going to cost something. But none of the rest of them are going to have reps from all the D1 schools! That $425 could be the best money ever spent in the long run. If its the difference in goint to a mojor D1 or ACU, its one helluva bargin.
