RANGERS, TEIXEIRA AGREE TO TWO-YEAR DEAL

The Rangers and agent Scott Boras agreed early Tuesday to a two-year
deal worth $15.4 million dollars for first baseman Mark Teixeira. He
will receive $6 million this season and $9.4 million in 2007.

Keep that young infield intact. I'm actually a little excited about the RANGERS. They have good, young players and have acquired some pitching.

Wow, that surprises me. His numbers justified 15 million per year not over 2 years. I'm very surprised Boras went for that. That shows me that Tex must really want to stay here.

for sure...team player...i really liked this cause it frees some money up for other things and you know that mark is really has a love for the game and not for the money


even though none of us would mind his type salary lol

I remember when i saw Teixeria up close at the Bosox games in may, he was crazy, he like kept the same face on the whole time, he didnt ever smile it was like :o the whole time.

For all those saying the Rangers got off cheap, or they beat Boras..That is not true. All this deal did was avoid arbitration. He still would not have been able to go anywhere till after 2007.

The long term deal will still be BIG BUCKS.

That's true, but I think he would have gotten more than 6 million in arbritration.
