who can read a bass tab??

who can read a bass tab?? im looking at some and it says 5-5/(10) and idk what that is and then it says 3~....does anybody know?? your services are greatly appreciated :)

If so the numbers represent frets.

If it's anything like reading a regular six-string guitar I'd know... The top line is the bottom string, going all of the way up to the top string which would be your bottom line... The numbers shown are the fret you put your fingers on... any aditional stuff (like hammers and so on) are marked differently...

I usually just pick stuff out, though... never was taught to read or play...
