Well, today I went to a memorial service for a guy named SFC Steven Cutno, who was in my company. A pretty sad day to say the least. He collasped on Friday and died of a heart attack while on a company run. He was calling cadence to his troops when he collapsed. He was short 14 days of 20 years of service to this nation. He fought in both Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He recieved the Bronze Star while in Iraq and had a wife and two children. Nameless face to most but dedicated to the nation none the less. It was a pretty sad day out here at Fort Bragg. There is nothing like the final roll call and the playing of tapps. I guess I have sat through too many of these memorial services in my career.

I wish you and your unit the best in mourning and recovering. He was not faceless, for the face of a soldier is the same no matter who you look at, dedicated and proud to serve. You are very accurate when you say there is nothing like the final role call and the playing of Tapps.:(
