Marlin QB gives pledge to Houston

From staff reports

Friday, January 06, 2006

Marlin quarterback Jeremy Sanders has made his verbal pledge to sign with Houston on Signing Day in February.

Sanders, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound senior and a three-year starter, threw for 2,540 yards and 27 touchdowns this season, and added another 882 yards and 16 scores rushing. He is a three-time Super Centex first-team standout.

Sanders is among seven Central Texas players who have already made non-binding verbal commitments to Division I-A schools, joining teammate and wide receiver Denario Alexander (Missouri), University cornerback Perrish Cox (LSU), Hearne wide receiver Montre Webber (Texas), Waco High defensive lineman Dan'Tay Ward (Texas Tech), Midway wide receiver Garfield Hicks (Baylor) and Shoemaker quarterback Keith Smith (Purdue).

Interesting... now Houston has two good 3A quarterbacks heading their way. Case Keenum with A. Wylie committed to UofH also.

don't recall it being called a "pledge", and not a commitment
