I have to agree with what D.W. Rutledge said in the article. Coaches salaries aren't out of line, teacher salaries are the one's out of line. Give them all a raise!

Teachers don't NEGOTIATE their salaries so they get whatever others give them...not very effective bargaining.

What do you think are the first 2 things a principal does when TAKS scores go up? (Not necessarily in this order)

1) Gives teachers a "Good Job!" pat on the back faculty meeting after school.
2) NEGOTIATES a 5% - 10% increase in salary
