Its hard to picture this being a tough game for them, I think they will get more competition from Newton!

I think this will tell Jasper how strong they are at this point in the season and what areas they need to work on. I don't know how fast Bay City was but Jasper is loaded with speed. Jasper will have to step it up this week. This is a really good team, they were 10-0 last year. Who did Strake play last week I never saw a score. Jasper's starters will play more than the 1st half this week. Jasper 40 strake 21

TheOne don't think Jesuit is not good because they are a private school...any team that beats Bay City has my attention...plus Houston Jesuit always beats Dallas Jesuit who reguarly gives good 5A public schools in DFW fits...so that tells me Strake Jesuit is very good...they are 3-1 they beat Waller last week...their only loss was to 5A Kileen High..

I would have to agree Matthew, that got my attention too. Bay City regularly thumps 5A schools.

What was the Waller score? I think Jasper played Waller in the 1st round last year.

Killeen is 4A now, but they are pretty good, and have some tradition.Jesuit will be a test for Jasper. I see this being a shootout.Jasper46-Jesuit35.Any team that beats Bay City is tough period.

I went and look at the stats for the Waller and Strake Jesuit game. The score was 9-7 and the stats were close. I believe Jasper's speed will be to much for them. We'll see, they did beat Bay City.

Yeah beating Bay City caught my eye as well I think it will be a good game. It will be if it's played, I guess that hurricane could have the final say. Anyway I will get the lowdown tomorrow on what the plan is going to be.

Bay City has a lot more speed than jasper and that was not a factor in the game.Bay city fumbled the ball 5 times and lost 3 of them.Bay City qb s.elliott passed for 235 yds ,but strake jesuit had 254 yds rushing, and 109 yds passing. The team that can make the fewest turnovers wins this game.Strake Jesuit does have a strong kicking game and that also might come in to play.My prediction Strake Jesuit 21 - Jasper 7.

This game will be a test for the Jasper defense and think it will be a high scoring game. Jasper 48 Strake 32

This one is hard to call for me. WestOrange-Stark whipped Bay City pretty good and then Nederland whipped WOS. I really don't know if there beating Bay City carries the weight that it did for the last few years? I really think that you may be seeing the Div. I Future State Championship pitted against the top Private school in Texas. It should be interesting, my compliments to both schools for scheduling top-notch competitors. I would guess Jasper will win a close battle of quality teams.

I agree that Jasper should win this game, but I was just looking at the stats that our friend from Mont Belvieu put up and they must be better than they look on paper. If Jasper can stop the run, which I think they probably will, it might not be as good a game as we all think. Adams will probably get more snaps on defense to help Bryant bottle things up and make them throw the ball, which Jesuit doesn't do as well. Jasper's secondary does give up a big play every now and then, which is a problem. Jasper had an extra week to scout and prepare, which is bad news for Jesuit. Jasper 31, Strake Jesuit 17...

I guess will see if Jasper is as fast as I think they are. When track season starts will see who has the fastest players. Jasper was 2nd in state in 4a last year.
