Obviously it all hinges on if Vince Young decides to return for his senior season. Odds are he'll buck the trend of top Longhorn pro prospects and leave early, but if he returns, Texas will be the preseason No. 1. The backfield will be the best in America with Jamaal Charles, Ramonce Taylor, Henry Melton, and Selvin Young, but someone might choose to leave to be the man somewhere else, or switch positions. The receiving corps returns, for the most part, in full with Limas Sweed, Quan Cosby, Nate Jones, and Brian Carter all back. T Jonathan Scott and G Will Allen are the lost seniors on the offensive line, but Justin Blalock will have a big choice to make as a likely first round pick if he leaves early. The defense should be among the best in the country even though it loses DT Rodrique Wright, LB Aaron Harris, CB Cedric Griffin, and Thorpe Award winner Michael Huff. And then there's the schedule. Ohio State, a likely preseason top five team, comes to Austin, Oklahoma will be much better, and there are trips to Nebraska and Texas Tech. It'll be tough to get through unscathed, but the bar is raised even higher now.
