Well I wouldn't got that far
But TCU would be a dang sight better than say Baylor or A&M they way they are playin these days

Naw Keep the Ags in the Big 12, get Baylor out
bring in the Frogs

Actually the Big 12 was much better than people thought. Everyone said Texas had a soft schedule and weak teams but the conference tied for most wins among the conference in bowl wins with the ACC at 5 - 3. Since UT won the national championship I would give the Big 12 the tie breaker especially since our three losses were by two by three points (one a last play field goal with TT vs Bama) and one by a respectable 9 points (Colorado vs Clemson when Colorado should have stayed home after getting whipped by us and Nebraska and then fired their coach and had lost their qb to injuries). One of the ACC's top teams Miami got whipped bad by LSU. It is also noted that one of our non conference opponents (Ohio State University) beat Notre Dame in a bowl.

the only thing TCU would beat baylor in is football (and that is questionable, and luckily it is a question that will be answered the first game of next season).....football, as important as it is, isnt the only sport.....

Football and maybe baseball would be the only sports that TCU would be able to compete in the Big XII

think about this
Why, when the old SWC folded, didn't a school in the 2 major Metro areas of the state get invited to go into the BIG 12?

SMU and TCU in the Dallas FtWorth
or
Houston or Rice (well maybe not Rice) from the Houston Metromess

Could it have been that DFW and Houston are great talent pools
and Texas and TAMU didn't want a TCU or Uof H stealing a Vince Young or someone close to his ability?

Baylor
Tech
for sure Waco and Lubbock have good High School players
but
Waco and Lubbock aint Dallas or Houston - Big Cities

so simple with TCU - SMU - U of H all out of the major conference

Texas and TAMU now are the best option for the best Talent that wants to play in a Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl ect......
Them aggies and horns aint dumb.

the slc and HP folks would complain that there aint enuff seats at Amon Carter for
a road game.....

Florida State should be sendin thank you notes to SMU for beating the frogs this season other wise they are out of the BCS game and the Horny Toads would have been in, now what would have taken place say if TCU would have gotten one of the Big Games???????

I image the BCS would have found a way to have gotten FSU in. We couldn't have had a small Texas college represent the BCS that way.:D

yeah ABC and the BCS wanted
JOE PA and BOBBY on TV
and it worked
great game
but how about a match up with 10-1 TCU against a vs. Notre Dame who lost to Ohio State
or maybe Va Tech and that classy brother of Mike Vicks oh they beat a powerhouse Louisville team in the Gator Bowl
Maybe a Georgia team at 10-1 would have been good
TCU is Mid major and TV and BCS aint gonna get the draw from a Mid Major
that is why we need a playoff system in DI
but it aint gonna happen
Money talks and
in this case
Common Sense walks

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 2 -- Late in the first quarter of Monday's Gator Bowl, Virginia Tech's football team was imploding at Alltel Stadium for the second time in 31 days. The No. 12 Hokies had just given up a second touchdown pass to No. 15 Louisville, and Virginia Tech all-American cornerback Jimmy Williams had been ejected for bumping an official.

By halftime, the Hokies trailed by a touchdown and had committed five personal fouls or unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, which did not include perhaps the most egregious act, Hokies quarterback Marcus Vick's stomping on the knee of defensive end Elvis Dumervil, which was not seen by the game officials. Officials never saw Vick's act, which occurred with Louisville leading 17-10 with about 1 1/2 minutes left in the first half. After scrambling for a nine-yard gain, Vick was tackled by Dumervil, who led Division I-A with 20 sacks this season. After Vick stood up, he looked down at Dumervil, raised his right leg and stomped on the back of Dumervil's left knee.

Fans sitting in the Louisville seating sections booed when the play was replayed on the video screen on the stadium scoreboard. As the teams left the field at intermission, several Louisville players attempted to go after Vick, but they were blocked by coaches and security personnel.

The play sullied what was one of Vick's better performances of the season, at least during the second half. Vick completed only three of his first 11 passes for 42 yards and was sacked twice in the first half.
