but when a USC player dropped a potential INT, he chose to knock it down...

He intercepted it and then fumbled it out of bounds. I was surprised
the kid didn't protest a little bit to cause the booth to want to

All I know is that even in Pee-Wee football the ground can't cause a fumble. It was probably a "make-up" call for that one they missed when Young's knee was down. Either way the 2 calls together didn't really have that much affect on the game.
