This year, we'll be having meat loaf, black eye peas, either mac 'n cheese or mashed potatoes, and probably rolls.

We typically do snacks like queso, chips/dip, sandwiches on New Year's Day, and black-eyed peas just to satisfy the tradition/superstition.

I've never purposely mixed up Mac and Cheese, but I do like to mix my mashed potatoes and sweet corn together :D when my boys were growing up.. (I guess they still do) all of them would mix their green peas (I grew up calling them English Peas) and mashed potatoes.... it became a tradition.. peas and potatoes :)

PS Cabbage sure sounds good right now..... and maybe some spinach with a sliced boiled egg on top..... sounds horrible.. actually tastes pretty good :D
